Thanks for the link. Always glad to help. Also a bit of advice. You do not have to include the physical link, as you've already created the link in the text. Why be redundant? :D
================
I am much obliged to Lorelle for her advice. In separate email communication I explained to her that I included physical links because I thought it would help with page accessibility. She disabused me of this notion. As I understand it now, Web readers work with HTML code and "understand" URLs and descriptive information (ALT tags) linked to the text and images in a web page entry. I've scrubbed redundant URLs from entries, which I think improves the look and feel of the blog entries.

I just read that article in Harper's on the Prelinger Library a month or so back, and I couldn't, for the life of me, remember the name of the Library, so thanks for the reminder....I definitely plan on checking it out next time I'm up there, which will be soon.
==================
Hi mchorton,

If you visit the Prelinger Library, share a comment to let us know what you think of the place!

Hi,
Does your experience as an <del datetime="2007-06-14T01:33:17+00:00">former </del>administrative analyst <del datetime="2007-06-14T01:33:17+00:00">for the Information Technology division of Cal State Northridge</del>, researcher <del datetime="2007-06-14T01:33:17+00:00">for the LA Times</del>, research editor <del datetime="2007-06-14T01:33:17+00:00">Bon Appetit magazine</del>, and knowledge manager for the company that developed the software for my SJSU help you while trying to master RSS feeds and blogs? I know you have, before taking the blogs class, been strictly an RSS reader; however, as I newbie to all things in the blogesphere, I'm feeling very overwhelmed by all that's available. I'm wondering if it results from my extreme inexperience or if others (even techies like yourself) require a certain amount of 'playtime' with the blog tools/technology before becoming more confident and knowledgeable of possibilities. Also, please know that I have added your blog to my blogroll; if you would prefer I did not, you can advise HungarianLibrarian and I will omit 21st from the list (of course, I'll still subcribe you in Bloglines : )!!!) What have you found to be a real treasure today?
Chris
=================
Hi Chris,
I'm no techie, but I've worked for several years as a non-technical member of technical teams, developing documentation, training, and marketing materials.
I think this experience helps me to pace myself, accept my limitations (for example, I'm not a coder), and set modest expectations as I learn to use new technology tools. If I have unlimited time and access to superb instruction and instructional materials for a tool, I'll challenge myself to go as far and as fast as I can go. If I have limited support and no deadline, I'll slooow down and take lots of time to build my skill set. If I must deliver a work or school assignment on deadline using a technology tool that's new to me, I'll use the resources available and focus on producing a deliverable that meets the assignment requirements at a sufficient level. Here, my aim is to demonstrate good, fundamental use and application of a technology tool. In these situations, I may try a little something twinkly with a new tech tool, but if I aim to dazzle, it'll fizzle.

HungarianLibrarian could not resist including this in the pool: http://www.oszk.hu/index_hu.htm
: ) Also, if you have not seen it, here is the March of the Librarians (set in the Seattle Library). Loved the Read posters!
Chris
==============
Hi Chris,
The March of the Librarians was a hoot. I noticed a comment from someone who observed a preponderance of grey-haired folk in the footage. Mebbe the young librarians were at happy hour! Or perhaps the young ones aren't yet librarians, and in a coupla years, when these young students are librarians, they'll be featured in similar footage chronicling the first library conference convened entirely through Second Life. Perhaps I'll be there, too.

Wow! that library in Portugal - I have to go see it! Thanks for sharing!
========================
Hi ohnoma,
Thanks for your comment! I'm experimenting with ways to add replies to comments left by blog visitors. I'm not changing any of your comment, just adding my reply to see how it looks using this approach.
The library pictured is in Brazil. I'm aware of two libraries in Portugal that might be worth visiting: The Library of the National Palace in Mafra, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convent_of_Mafra#Library, and the library of the University of Coimbra, http://www.travel-in-portugal.com/photos/img163.htm .
